The Danish Polar Center no longer exists – employees and duties formerly associated with the Danish Polar Center are now integrated into the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.

As part of a restructuring of the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation, the Danish Polar Center closed down on 1st February 2009. DPC’s duties and employees have now been integrated into other departments of the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation’s newly-formed Climate and Polar Unit, including the Polar Library, will, until futher notice, be located at DPC’s former address: Strandgade 102, 1401 Copenhagen C, Denmark. Some sections of the content of DPC’s website will be transferred to Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation’s website, www.en.fi.dk , during the course of the spring. In the transitional period, some parts of DPC’s website will still be available, in order to ensure that users access to information regarding, for example, expedition permits, Polarfronten magazine etc. Any enquiries regarding the temporary transitional website can be addressed to Uffe Wilken, , tel.: +45 72 48 81 17.

Part of Danish Polar Center has moved to National Environmental Research Institute at University of Aarhus
As part of the restructuring of the Danish Polar Center the Zackenberg Secretariat, the Nuuk Basic Secretariat, The Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring Secretariat, The Danish Polar Center Logistics Department and the Forum of Arctic Research Operators Secretariat have all moved to National Environmental Research Institute at University of Aarhus.

Until further notice the DPC-website can still be used to get information about logistics. Read more
